About Rick Yorn (Leo's manager and friend)
..also pictured with Leo and Lukkas at the Lakers' game

"Rick has enormous energy," adds Jim Wiatt, president and co-chief executive officer of the William Morris Agency. "He's a very likable guy with a lot of enthusiasm and I think people really respond to that."

DiCaprio certainly did. Yorn signed the young actor in 1995. He had just wrapped the art house flop "Total Eclipse" and showed little interest in a future as a matinee idol. "Leo's sensibility leans toward more artsy, character-driven movies," says Yorn. "He never wanted to do a big movie."

But in 1996, when Yorn found out about James Cameron's staggering plans for Titanic, he immeadiately began a campaign to get DiCaprio the lead, even though, initially, both the actor and the director needed convincing."Jim thought he was too young," says Yorn, "because, you know, he has that baby face." But Yorn arranged for Cameron to see the dailies from Romeo and Juliet, which was in production at the time, and, Yorn says, "As soon as he saw them, he knew." When it came to corralling DiCaprio, Yorn explains, "We really felt it was the right thing for him to do." He shrugs and grins, "So we stayed on it." Then it goes on to say... Yorn is currently serving as producer on several promising films, including Edward Burns' Sidewalks of New York and one of the most highly anticipated pictures of the year, Ovitz client Martin Scorsese's Gangs of New York, which stars both Diaz and DiCaprio.

Cut to a modern house clinging to the hills above Sunset Boulevard. Yorn stands patiently in the dining room while a stylist orchestrates his longish, silver-shot hair for a photo shoot. An AMG publicist would say only that the property belongs to "a friend," but the house itself seems unable to contain the fact that it's DiCaprio's. The basketball net in the driveway is the first clue, the Basquiat in the living room the second and the bottle of Leo Beer prominently displayed on a shelf in the bathroom pretty much removes all doubt. (Sources later confirms this fact.) While waiting around, Yorn gamely agrees to continue the interview, despite the fact that Mike Burns is not here to referee. Leading the way back to DiCaprio's bedroom, he sits on the bed, spreads his hands and says, "What else can I tell you?"
